Tiger Woods will make his first appearance on the PGA Tour in 2024 when he competes in this week’s Genesis Invitational, held Feb. 15-18 at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles.
One of eight signature events on the PGA TOUR schedule, Woods will compete alongside 70 other players for a $20 million purse, with this year’s champion taking home a $4 million prize. The tournament will feature a 36-hole cut for the top 50 plus ties and each player within 10 shots of the lead.
Woods, who is also the official host of the tournament, will be joined by 22 of the top 24 players in the current world rankings and 41 of the top 50, making him one of the strongest players of the season so far. The top 10 players at the start include Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa, Matt Fitzpatrick and Brian Harman.
Woods announced on social media that he was “excited to host” Riviera Country Club – in a tournament benefiting his foundation – as he continues his latest comeback from injury.
Following his recent split from Nike, Woods is expected to unveil a new apparel sponsor at The Genesis, with TaylorMade, with whom he has an equipment contract, strongly tipped to be unveiled as the brand behind his new clothing range, after recently trademarking it was labeled ‘Sunday Red’ logo with a tiger.

The former world number 1 underwent ankle surgery in April last year after withdrawing from the Masters in the third round and did not compete again until the Hero World Challenge in December. The 48-year-old finished 18th in the 20-man field in the Bahamas, but said after rounds of 75, 70, 71 and 72 he was pleased with his progress.
Woods said he hoped to play “at least one tournament a month” this year, with The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass (March 14-17) being his next event after The Genesis, followed by the Masters. which starts April 11, and the PGA Championship at Valhalla (May 16-19).
