After a challenging period during Covid, when all travel was largely cancelled, holiday golf equipment hire company Clubs to Hire has returned with a very positive trading performance over the last two years.
The Ireland-based company grew sales by 181% and profits by 90% in 2022, and further expanded the business in 2023 with the opening of nine new locations.
Tony Judge, CEO of Clubs to Hire, said: “Demand for our short-term rental product has remained extremely strong, with more and more traveling golfers taking advantage of our stress-free product and service. We offer our customers high quality golf clubs delivered direct to their resort or airport and this has proven extremely popular.”
Clubs to Hire offers the latest sets from all the top manufacturers, including Callaway, PXG, TaylorMade, Srixon, Mizuno, Cobra and others. Over the past two years, the company has seen demand from customers to play the same clubs they rented at home while on vacation, which has resulted in the launch of a new consumer rental option called ‘Infinity’, which allows golfers to rent new or used sets from Clubs to Hire for just £70 per month.
Golfers can simply choose the set they like and have it delivered to their home, where they can enjoy the set for at least six months. Sets can be shipped anywhere in the EU and customers pay the rental price monthly.
Judge added: “Buying a new set of golf clubs can prove to be an expensive upfront expense for many people, and the average golfer isn’t always sure whether that particular set will suit their game. Now golfers can rent a set on holiday from Clubs to Hire Infinity and then go home and rent for a longer term. Infinity offers golfers more flexibility in their set of clubs, allowing them to enjoy new or used sets at a fraction of the purchase cost.”
Clubs to Hire Infinity packages currently offer new sets from Callaway, PXG and Cobra and used sets from Callaway and Srixon. Sets can be rented for a period of 6 or 12 months, with the latter option having a lower monthly rental price. At the end of the rental period, customers have the option to return the clubs, extend the rental period or purchase the set directly at an agreed price.
Launched in 2010, Clubs to Hire will celebrate its 14th year in business in 2024. The company processes more than 40,000 rental club bookings annually in 26 locations worldwide, including Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Ireland, Great Britain, Dubai, Mauritius, South Africa and five countries across the Mediterranean. Clubs are available for left- or right-handed men or women and can be left or delivered directly to the golfer’s accommodation at the airport.
